Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) project

The PE and School Sport (PESS) project is a partnership scheme between the Welsh Assembly Government and the Sports Council for Wales. The aim of PESS is to raise standards in Physical Education and schools sport and to promote ‘Healthy and Active Lifestyles’ in line with the ‘Healthy Schools Network’ it has a particular emphasis on health related exercise, gymnastics and dance.

Chirk Infants have been involved with PESS since September 2002 and were part of the initial pilot project. Since 2002 teachers at Chirk Infants have received specialist training from PE and School Sport consultants in Gymnastics and Dance.
